About the founders

Keith Colton

As a company founder and the President of Empire Analysts, Mr. Colton brings a combination of technical expertise and leadership to his client engagements, having managed a number of complex projects. Keith is known for implementing one of the earliest “real-time” BI environments, in which the need for minute-by-minute updates was a financial imperative. He excels at strategy and design and also enjoys getting involved in aspects of implementation. 

Mr. Colton received a BSE from Cornell University as well as a JD from Case Western Reserve.

Tom Harley

As a company founder and Managing Partner in Empire Analysts’ Business Intelligence practice, Mr. Harley brings extensive experience in enterprise data warehouse design and implementation. Tom is most known for his creative problem-solving skills, having applied these to a number of challenging data warehousing initiatives. With great attention to the business issues, Tom is able to quickly grasp the challenges facing his clients and turn those into a star schema database design that provides the foundation for the data warehouse. He is also an expert at troubleshooting and writing complex queries and procedures.

Mr. Harley received a BA in Mathematics from Wake Forest University and an MDiv and MACE from Union Presbyterian Seminary.
